i have been thinking why the Windows Defender on the Vista is always not started automatically, and it has been like that for some time.

i had even googled and search microsoft support site but could not locate any solution.

so just now, somehow, i decided to take a look at the Services, and there it was, the Windows Defender Service was set to Manual!!
