can someone add on design to make it into some sort of a artificial intelligence domestic helper? er...maybe that should be C3P0 ...

anyway, my colleague brought up an interesting point in terms of energy saving:

it does not mean that by you switching off the power in your home, the power generator would produce less power. it would still produce the same amount of power daily, and would not be regulated by demand...so, with the power that was supposed to come to me going to someone else, where is the nett savings in energy? i'll probably get a smaller bill though...

... this reminds me of a similar question on water. we have seen those shower heads that salesperson says would help to save water; but the issue is the meter would have started, and water started to flow ... it could just be a false impression due to seemingly less water or smaller force of water, but the water meter is still running at its usual pace!

as my ex-colleagues used to say, if you need 3 litres of water to shower, you need that much regardless of the type of shower head you use...
