when i was using a Motorola handset, i bought this Jabra bluetooth headset...
so, when i switched to htc touch, i tried and tried and just could not pair them up...in fact, from the htc touch, bluetooth file sharing/transfer is about the only thing i could do with bluetooth...:(
i managed to come to a web site about pairing up the Jabra headset, and it led me to select a model, and well, htc touch is not listed!
as mentioned before, i also could not use bluetooth to sync!
and i thought bluetooth is a standard protocol!
you know, APPLE may have come up with great designs for MacBook, desktops, iPod, iPod Touch, and iPhone, but where's the earphones?
i mean, APPLE has been quite bold and forward - they took away floppy before everybody else, they took away serial/parallel ports before everyone else, they took away optical drive before everyone else - so, i wonder why they do not take away earphones before everyone else?! why they even bother to take away or disable BT in iPod Touch but let it be in the iPhone?
i have just come across this particular BT earphone,so, it seems maybe APPLE is giving the community to earn some money...:P
i'm getting sick of wires, wires ... and i think i want this, when the price is right for me...
and yes, i dislike the fact that i can only sync the ipod touch with that usb cable, i mean, APPLE could just leave the BT in and let us sync via BT with iTunes...if they could take away all those technologies, why not take away this!? (yes, i'm still hoping to be able to sync via BT between the HTC Touch and Outlook)
... i supposed maybe they cannot release everything at one go, can they? Macworld could very well be boring regardless how great Steve Jobs's showmanship is...
i could not get the bluetooth jabra headset to work with htc touch?
...
i could not get the htc touch to sync with outlook and others via bluetooth?
...
how come...?
seeing how the touchiness is on a iPhone, it really should not be too far away when you could do the same stuff that you do on the iPhone with your fingers on a laptop or MacBook - I suspect APPLE would be the first to roll out such functionalities on a mobile computer...
while it makes perfect design sense to have those touchiness on a iPod or iPhone, will the same feature be practical on a laptop?
just the other day, a colleague showed us her phone from China, and by the so-call flick of the phone, the wallpaper on the phone changes...i commented that it does not make much use for changing the wallpaper, it would however be better if i could flick and the mp3 function on the phone would play the next track without me having to click on the forward button --- later on, on another day during lunch when the same subject came up, she qualify that she has not tried the same flicking on the other applications on the phone, but anyway, ...
so, before that lunch, another colleague informed me - also during lunch - a lot of things are said over lunch..., she said that Sony Ericsson has a new phone that has similar flicking, and it's either playing the next track or the previous track or randomly with that flick ...
of all the iPods designs, i personally liked the shuffle, because i'm not too particular about wanting to know the name of songs i'm listening to, i just listens to the songs...but i am not in possession of any iPods, at least for now, until SingNet delivers the iPod Touch for my broadband recontract...
and APPLE's design is really quite in line with Simplicity, don't provide me with things which I know I won't use ... but the fact that companies put in the functionalities, chances are i just might spend some time to learn about the feature, and after the 3-minutes fever, i would probably forget about it and hardly use it...
i'm preparing for a knowledge transfer end of this month, and my initial drafted powerpoint has been reviewed by the manager and another colleague, and they felt it's a bit short, and seems lacking in details...so, now, i'm revising the ppt, and at the same reading up on preparing ppt etc ... and as i prepare, i'm also running through some kind of scripts and how the presentation could go...now my bluetooth mouse comes in handy, and although it's not a presentation mouse, but the laser and bluetooth could also be useful - bluetooth means i could be a distance away from my laptop, and laser means i could hold the mouse in my palm and it would still work, as compare to those other optical mouse that still requires a dark and opaque surface. and i hope to put in simple slides ...
if you have ever bought a mouse - for your laptop or PC - you would know about the packaging.
and it can be quite a task just to unwrap the darn packaging without cutting yourself.
i just bought a Bluetooth Logitech mouse, and i must say, the packaging was fantastic. there was this little instruction that says "Bend corner to open", and like a perforated latter, it just kind of tore open easily!!
i didn't find a similar one from Microsoft, so too bad for them...
as to why i would want to use a BT mouse? well, my laptop has 3 USB slots, and since this Fujitsu laptop has BT, might as well make use of it, and free up 1 USB slots...
unfortunately, logitech mouse does not have the feature of Microsoft's intellipoint - instant viewer - that when you depress the scroll wheel, you would get something like Expose in Mac ... I find Expose to be better than the task switcher in XP or Vista, and i'm using My Expose ... but if you are using Microsoft Scroll wheel mouse, I recommend you try out the instant viewer instead of using the Window+Tab or Alt+Tab, that 3D thingy is nothing to shout about...heck , i hardly use it...
but in terms of feel, this BT logitech mouse is still not good enough ... :(
i didn't expect the setup to be so "difficult"...i'm trying to sync my stuff between the HTC Touch and my laptop via bluetooth ...
i'm still collecting information, but so far, it seems to point me to the steps to first delete all partnerships, then pair up the htc touch and the laptop...
